PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide inexpensive washing cloth having a abrasive function whereby dirt can be easily wiped off by simply dipping the cloth in water and lightly rubbing a fouled part without using a chemical (detergent). SOLUTION: A relatively hand, narrow tape 3a is spirally and coarsely wound around a wool yarn 2 of acrylic fiber, and the corners (end edges) of the narrow tape 3a are woven in such a way as to project from the thickness of the wool yarn 2. The corners (end edges) of the narrow tape 3a are provided in this way so that a sheet woven into a lattice is formed into a cylindrical shape. The narrow tape 3a may include those 3c made from materials with minute projections or may be provided with annular handles 7 of appropriate sizes at its cylindrical end edges.
