PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image input system which can photograph a slender object such as a path with high resolution. SOLUTION: A rotating mirror camera 100 of this image input system consists of a camera 1, a mirror 2 which is placed in front of the camera 1 at about 45 degrees to the optical axis of the camera 1 and a mirror rotation mechanism 3 which rotates the mirror 2 around the optical axis of the camera 1. A fixed mirror 90 is placed above a path securing coincidence between the longer axis of the mirror 90 and the path direction. The camera 100 is placed so that the plane of rotation of the mirror 2 overlaps the longer axis direction of the mirror 90. When the mirror 2 is rotated by the mechanism 3, the image of an object (path) that is reflected on the mirror 90 is successively inputted to the camera 1.
