PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile terminal that enhances its own reliability and operation efficiency by detecting the opening of a recording paper door in an energy saving mode and releasing the energy saving mode. SOLUTION: A recording paper door sensor 21 or the like of this facsimile terminal detects that a recording paper door is open in an energy saving mode. An energy saving control section 13 transmits an energy saving release factor signal to a system control section 25 as a result of detecting the door opening (release factor) and sets a power supply control signal to a power supply control section 29 to supply power supply voltage to the entire unit section 30 so as to release the energy saving mode.
