PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screen printing apparatus and a screen printing method for preventing printing quality defects caused by inclusion of air bubbles to enable high speed printing. SOLUTION: In the screen printing apparatus for printing cream solder 5 on a substrate by sliding a hermetically closed squeegee head 13 storing the solder 5 on a mask plate 12, a space housing the pressurized cream solder 5 and bringing the cream solder into contact with the surface of the mask plate through the opening part provided in the lower surface thereof is partitioned into first and second printing spaces 35A, 35B by the partition plate 37 provided in the direction crossing the slide direction of the squeegee head at a right angle. By this constitution, even if air bubbles are included one printing space, air bubbles disappear in the adjacent printing space and probability, wherein plate separation is performed in such a state that pattern holes 12a are not sufficiently filled, is lowered to prevent printing defects.
