PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll forming apparatus to form a long size metal plate into a square column for building by roll forming. SOLUTION: In the apparatus, in which a cylindrical body A formed from the long size metal plate in the previous process is fed between an upper roller 1 and a lower roller 2, a mandrel 8, which is arranged with a caulking roller 4 and feed rollers 51 respectively independently as freely rotating, is inserted into the cylindrical body A, the overlapped parts of the long size metal plate constituting the cylindrical body A are caulked, these both end parts are joined, the caulking teeth 41a, 41b formed to a peripheral of the caulking roller 4 are not formed in a whole width direction of the roller but from the left side part of the roller to the center part and the right side part of the roller to the center part as well as respectively alternately to left/right in about half width direction length.
