PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide mixed crystal type cubic silver chloro-bromide, containing about 50 mol% silver bromide and having high monodispersity. SOLUTION: In a double jet mixing method for preparing silver chloro- bromide mixed crystal type cubic crystals containing 40-60 mol% silver bromide, silver halide is prepared in an atmosphere adjusted to 2×10-4-1×10-3 mol/l for the concentration of halogen ions in the early stage of mixing and to 1×10-5-1×10-4 mol/l for the concentration of halogen ions in the later stage of mixing.
