PURPOSE: An electronic data storage capable of recognizing a fingerprint is provided to guarantee the electronic data storage to keep the security by enabling the electronic data storage to verify the fingerprint. CONSTITUTION: The electronic data storage comprises a memory(3) storing the fingerprint reference data obtained by scanning the fingerprint for a person possessing an access authority of the data file, a fingerprint sensor(4) generating the fingerprint by scanning the fingerprint for a user using the electronic data storage, an input/output interface circuit(5) activating a communication to the data terminal, and a processing part(2) connecting to the memory, the fingerprint sensor and the input/output interface circuit. The processing part receives the fingerprint scan data from the fingerprint sensor and compares the fingerprint scan data to the fingerprint reference data. In case that the user of the electronic data storage has the access authority of the stored data file, the processing part activates the input/output interface circuit.
