Determination of the frictional force of cables in liquid media, comprises pulling the member through a liquid at constant speed and measuring the frictional force (difference between tension forces). Two experiments are carried out: (a) frictional experiment; and (b) reference measurement. Both are carried out at the same relative speed, force and torsional moment, and takes place over a long period.
