The invention relates to a gas-proof conduit designed in particular for evacuating waste air that carries contaminants from industrial processes, comprising delimiting peripheral walls, which are formed from essentially flat conduit elements (1, 1', 1'', 1''') that abut each other. A layer consisting of a sealing adhesive that bonds elastically is provided at least in the regions of the butt joints lying on the lower side when assembled, said regions forming an interconnection zone for adjacent conduit elements (1, 1', 1'', 1'''). Said adhesive, which bonds homogeneously to the material of the conduit elements (1, 1', 1'', 1'''), is compatible with the contaminants that are carried by the waste air. A type of trough is thus formed in the lower region of the conduit, said trough being composed of flat parts, in contrast to prior art, in which said trough comprises one-piece angular elements.
