PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing an alkenylbenzene derivative by reacting a benzene derivative with an acetylene derivative in the presence of a palladium compound catalyst because the conventional method has the problems of limiting the substrate to a compound having a ketone group such as α-tetralone, not reacting with a simple ketone such as acetophenone, and the like. SOLUTION: This method for producing the alkenylbenzene derivative represented by general formula (3) (wherein, R is H, an alkyl, an alkoxy or the like; R1 is an alkyl or phenyl; and R2 is an alkyl ester, a cycloalkyl ester or phenyl) is characterized in that a benzene derivative represented by general formula (1) is reacted with an acetylene compound represented by the general formula (2): R1-C≡C-R2 in the presence of a palladium compound. |
