<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell having high durability by restraining decomposition and deterioration of its polymer electrolyte film. <P>SOLUTION: On the fuel cell 200, a fuel electrode 16 is formed on one surface of the polymer electrolyte film 11 and an oxygen electrode 17 is formed on the other surface thereof, and fuel gas is supplied to the fuel electrode 16 and oxidant gas is supplied to the oxygen electrode. A pressure of the fuel gas at the fuel electrode 16 side is set higher than a partial pressure of oxygen in the pressure of the oxidant gas at oxygen electrode 17 side. Here, the pressure is adjusted by adjusting opening/closing of exhaust gas pressure adjusting valves 209, 210 arranged on a fuel gas take-out passage exhausting the fuel gas outside of the fuel cell 200 and on an oxidant gas take-out passage so as to make the pressure of the fuel gas higher than the partial pressure of the oxygen in the oxidant gas by not less than eight times. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
