PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer capable of eliminating the trouble of the drive system of a platen roller. SOLUTION: In the printer 10, the platen roller 78, the motor 68 for rotationally driving the platen roller 78, and gears 72A-72F for transmitting the drive force of the motor 68 to the platen roller 78, are attached to the on-off cover 18 provided to an apparatus main body 12 in a freely openable and closable manner. That is, the drive system of the platen roller 78 is wholly arranged to the on-off cover 17. A motor housing case 82 is provided in the apparatus main body 12 and, when the on-off cover 18 is closed, the motor 68 is housed in the motor housing case 82. |
