A key inputting device in a portable terminal is provided to install wheel keys performing multidirectional rotation and switch functions, thereby improving a key input function of the terminal, quickly moving a menu screen of an icon form and miniaturizing the terminal by reducing key installation space within the terminal. At least one or more wheel keys(100) are installed in a portable terminal main body(10) and rotate in multi directions. A rotation unit(110) rotates the wheel keys in each direction. A switch(120) is installed in a lower part of the wheel key, senses a rotation direction of the wheel keys and senses pressure when the wheel key is pressed as being rotated.
