PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bi-directional optical communication device that is capable of transmission/reception with one optical fiber, that has little loss both in transmitting and receiving, and that can be highly efficiently combined with an optical fiber of a large diameter like POF. SOLUTION: Transmitting light emitted from a light emitting element 6 is reflected by a first mirror 3 in the direction of an optical fiber end face and coupled with an optical fiber 2. Meantime, receiving light propagated on the optical fiber 2 is reflected by a second mirror 4 of a curved surface and converged on a light receiving element 7.
