<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable sure recovery control also to image data which has no image formation information given thereto for every page of images, by a small memory capacity. <P>SOLUTION: An image formation information ring buffer 4000 is set which stores the image formation information related to image data of one page in each of buffers 4001-4004. For every image formation of one page, the image formation information related to the image data of the page is related with a head address of the image data and sequentially stored in the buffers 4001-4004. Information on the page discharged after normal image formation is released from the ring buffer 4000. On the other hand, at the time of recovery after the occurrence of an error that requires intervention of a user, the image formation information of a recovery object page and the head address of the image data are read out from the image formation information ring buffer 4000.
