<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet folding device, and an image forming system having the same capable of neatly storing sheets which are successively folded without causing any edge fold, wrinkles or the like in a process of transferring the sheets to a stacker. <P>SOLUTION: The sheet folding device comprises a folding unit for folding paper sheets to be successively fed and other sheets, and a sheet stacking unit for stacking and storing the sheets from the folding unit. A conveying means for conveying the folded sheets one by one is provided between the folding unit and the sheet stacking unit. The conveying means comprises a first conveying means on the upstream side for conveying the sheet from the folding unit in the direction substantially orthogonal to a fold of the sheet, and a second conveying means on the downstream side for conveying the sheet in the direction of the fold. The second conveying means supports the sheets by a tray member one by one, and successively conveys out the sheets along the tray member to the sheet stacking unit in the direction of the fold. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
