A method for controlling a frontloading washing machine having drying function is provided to improve drying efficiency and to prevent overheating by drying only a proper weight of laundry in a drying process. A method for controlling a frontloading washing machine comprises the steps: sensing the weight of laundry in a drum(S424); judging whether the sensed weight of laundry is over a predetermined set weight(S425,S442); and displaying a message that the weight of laundry exceeds the set weight(S426,S446).
