ALIGNMENT LAYER, ALIGNMENT FILM, OPTICAL FILM, POLARIZING PLATE AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY APPARATUS

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alignment layer which has high durability and good adhesion to a polymer film and an optical anisotropic layer formed of a liquid crystal composition and to provide an optical film of high durability.

SOLUTION: The alignment layer is consisting essentially of polyvinyl alcohol and contains at least one highly saponified polyvinyl alcohol with average saponification degree of ≥95% and at least one modified polyvinyl alcohol having a cross-linkable group in a molecule. Further the optical film has the optical anisotropic layer which is formed of the liquid crystal composition on the alignment layer.
