PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improvement technology in using positional information relating to multiple probes.SOLUTION: In brachytherapy, a perineal probe 11 is used for a perineal approach of using a needle to place a radiation source in a prostate from a subject's perineum, and a transrectal probe 12 is used for a transrectal approach of using a needle to place the radiation source in the prostate from a subject's rectum. In a transition from the perineal approach to the transrectal approach, a position sensor 42 attached to the perineal probe 11 is detached from the perineal probe 11 and is reattached to the transrectal probe 12. Then, the transrectal approach realizes the placement of the radiation source in a site where the perineal approach cannot realize the placement of the radiation source.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
