PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring system that uses a function used in forming an image in image forming means to make it easier to detect the occurrence of abnormality and acquire a larger amount of information on an intruder.SOLUTION: There is provided a monitoring system comprising image forming apparatuses 1a, 1b, and 1c that form images on recording materials and detect abnormality in a predetermined monitoring area, and a monitoring camera 2 that operates in conjunction with the image forming apparatuses 1a, 1b, and 1c, where the image forming apparatuses 1a, 1b, and 1c each include image forming means that forms an image on a recording material, detection means that takes operation states including a normal state when the image forming means normally operates and a monitoring state for detecting abnormality in the predetermined monitoring area, switching means that switches the operation state of the detection means, and output means that, when the detection means has detected abnormality, outputs the fact that abnormality has occurred, to the monitoring camera 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7 |
