PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image with low glossiness while suppressing the occurrence of defective fixing.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: an image forming unit that forms a toner image on a sheet P with a toner having a volume average particle diameter of 6 μm or less; a fixing device 30 that includes a fixing roll 31 that fixes the toner image on the sheet P, a pressure roll 32 that forms a fixing nip part N through which the sheet P holding the toner image passes with the fixing roll 31, and a heater 33 that heats the fixing roll 31; and a control part that passes the sheet P holding the toner image through the fixing nip part N while applying pressure at a first pressure at the fixing nip part N over a first passing time in a normal mode of obtaining an image with predetermined glossiness, and passes the sheet P holding the toner image through the fixing nip part N while applying pressure at a second pressure lower than the first pressure at the fixing nip part N over a second passing time longer than the first passing time in a low glossiness mode.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
