The present invention relates to a lighting apparatus having an automatic illumination control function to control an illumination of the lighting apparatus to make a sum of an illumination of external light incident into the inside and an illumination of the lighting apparatus formed at a user location, and a control method thereof. The lighting apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a mobile terminal to provide current location information and moving path information; a lighting unit having at least one lighting unit to irradiate an internal light to a current location of a user; and a central control unit to receive an illumination of an external light from an illumination sensor unit in real time and control an illumination of the internal light to irradiate the current location of a user with the internal light to make the illumination on the current location of a user be preset target illumination. The target illumination is a sum of the illumination of the external light and illumination of the internal light. |
