PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a web winding method which can guide a tip of a cut web to a winding core and suppress occurrence of failure in winding, and a web winding device.SOLUTION: A web winding method includes: a cutting step of moving a cutter unit 1 in a width direction of a web W to be conveyed, and cutting the web W; a press roller moving step of moving a press roller 70 having a first guide plate 72, supporting a tip of the web W cut by the cutting step with the first guide plate 72, and arranging the tip of the first guide plate 72 near a winding core 6 for winding the web W; and a winding step of conveying the tip of the web W while supporting it with the first guide plate 72, holding the tip of the web between the winding core 6 and the press roller 70, and winding the web around the winding core 6.
