<p>Screw mixer and/or extruder for handling pelleted plastics matl fed from a hopper has a liq. material dispensing device, e.g. for a colourant, extending into the hopper at a short distanced above the cylinder so that the screw is shielded from the dispensing device by intervening pellets, so the liq. is prevented from falling directly on the screw. A supply system connects a pressurisable supply of the liq. to the dispensing device to supply predetermined quantities of the matl. at predetermined intervals, e.g. by way of a positive displacement pump.</p> |
