The gripper jaws (15, 25) have their main body (24) covered with U-, L-, or T-shaped lamella (26) supported on a stop (27) and held by an end clamp (22) with the aid of bolts (23). The lever arms which move about a swivel point each consist of three locationally adjustable coupled parts, namely a triangular linkage plate, a lever (13) and the gripper jaws (15, 25). The gripper operating unit e.g. a piston moves within a cylindrical guide over a threaded sleeve (29).
