<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting element which is an inexpensive light emitting element and can efficiently converge light traveling in an oblique direction close to the lateral direction on a frontside dome-shaped convex part even if an island part does not have a recessed part formed, but is plane while protecting a wire bonding part on an LED chip surface. SOLUTION: An LED chip 13 is bonded onto a flat-plate type island 11a formed integrally with a 1st lead 11 and its one electrode is connected to a 2nd lead 12 through a wire 14. A light emitting element chip 13 is coated in a dome shape with a light-transmissive and insulating coating layer 16 with elasticity such as JCR. Then the tip part of the 1st lead 11 coated with the insulating coating layer 16 and the tip of the 2nd lead 12 are molded of light- transmissive resin so that a dome-shaped convex part 15a is formed on the front side.</p> |
