PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an animal individual having a functionally knockout gene encoding an actin bond protein afadin, its embryo and ES cell. SOLUTION: This afadin-deficient animal has a nonhuman animal embryo and is a nonhuman animal individual and its progeny animals growing a totipotent cell in which a protein afadin encoding genome gene is substituted with a mutant gene of a type deficient in the genome gene.
