PURPOSE:To rapidly and surely determine the position of a measuring instrument by mounting a laser beam emitter to an irradiating container so that a laser beam can be emitted through a through-hole, a radiation source path and a collimating portion and providing a shutter between the laser beam emitter and the through-hole. CONSTITUTION:A measuring instrument is fixedly mounted to a base 7 and a truck 8 is moved on a rail 9 to a prescribed position. A detecting portion is adjusted so as to be brought to a position approximately opposing a collimating portion 2 by lifting, lowering or sliding the base 7 of the truck 8. A shutter 4 is displaced and a laser beam emitter 6 is operated to emit a laser light beam through a through-hole 3. The base 7 is lifted, lowered or slided so that a marking position is brought to a proper position in the detecting portion and the laser beam emitter 6 is stopped. The through-hole 3 is completely closed by the shutter 4 to begin an irradiation from a radiation source R.
