PURPOSE:To prevent the fastening time of a clutch from becoming long by varying the changing characteristic of an oil pressure at the time of fastening a lock-up clutch in accordance with at least one of the oil temp. of a working fluid, vehicle speed, and the output condition of an engine. CONSTITUTION:Signals from an oil temp. sensor 66, a vehicle speed sensor 68, and a throttle opening sensor 70 are inputted into a control unit 64. When one of these signals is changed, the control unit 64 controls so that an oil pressure is changed to reduce the time required for fastening a lock-up clutch. Thereby, it is prevented that the time for speed change becomes long depending on an operating condition.
