摘要 The object of the invention is a method and a device for the fault location of short circuits and earth leaks in high- and medium-voltage networks having nodes and partial sections. By means of distance protecting devices arranged in the respective network, the impedances are measured in the case of a fault and combined in accordance with the respective switching condition of the high- or medium-voltage network to form impedances of power supply units in which the fault may possibly have occurred. The impedances are compared with calculated impedances which are determined from the electrical characteristic values of the network, adapted to the network structure and the switching condition of the high- or medium-voltage network. In the case of agreement or of agreement within a permitted tolerance between the impedance measured corresponding to a fault location and the calculated impedances, the partial section of the fault location is determined. The fault location is calculated from the impedances. In the case of ambiguity, those conductor sections are reported as possible fault locations, whose measured impedances agree with the calculated impedances. <IMAGE>
