Tilt-and-slide sunroof for vehicles

A tilt-and-slide sunroof for vehicles is specified, the panel of which can be displaced longitudinally and can be deployed. The tilt-and-slide sunroof has a sliding headliner, which faces the passenger compartment and the movement of which is linked to the movement of carriage-like sliders for the movement of the panel via a rack-and-pinion drive. In order to produce a rigid connection of the sliding headliner and carriage-like slider for the sliding region, a sliding member is provided which is arranged such that it can move horizontally and is moved by a spring and by means of a forcible control due to a cam fixed on the frame. When the sliding member latches into a latching recess which is provided as an extension to, and outside of, a straight toothing, which is assigned to the sliding headliner, the rigid connection is produced. With the aid of a leading edge towards the cam the sliding member is transferred into its disengagement position in which it is pressed out of the locking recess. In this position of the sliding member the sliding headliner can then be moved in conjunction with the movement of the carriage-like slider and with the interconnection of the rack-and-pinion drive, when the panel of the tilt-and-slide sunroof is being deployed.
