PURPOSE: A cash operation management system for managing an automatic teller machine(ATM) using a protocol converter capable of mutually changing a standard communication protocol of the ATM and a host communication protocol between a host and the ATM and controlling a transaction function of the ATM is provided. Therefore, the system permits operation of an ATM to be convenient, improves the operation efficiency of the system and ensures reasonable operation thereof. CONSTITUTION: This management system comprises: a host(1) for responding to a client transaction request, managing a transaction record and executing the system control process after reception of fault information; an ATM(2) for performing communication with a protocol converter(4) and carrying out an automatic transaction; a communication controller(3) for taking charge of communication control of the host and protocol converter; and the protocol converter for performing communication with the host through the communication controller and taking charge of a response to a transaction request from the ATM, a transaction limitation of the relevant ATM on the occurrence of a fault and protocol conversion between the ATM and host.
