PURPOSE:To automatically form a proper image having a different printing density without having a misoperation by detecting the type of a process cartridge concerning a printing density,a nd automatically switching the conditions of a device main body side based on the detected signal. CONSTITUTION:A detecting means 31 composed of a transmitting part 32 and a detecting part 33 is provided on the process cartridge 30 and the side of the device main body 1, the detecting part 33 of the side of the device main body 1 detects the type of the process cartridges 30 concerning the printing density via the transmitting part 32 provided on the process cartridge 30, and the detected signal is sent to an optimum conditions table 28 via a DC controller 26. In other words, the type of the process cartridge 30 concerning the printing density is detected by the detecting means 31, the conditions of the side of the device main body 1 such as the rotational frequency of a polygon mirror 22 can be automatically switched by the DC controller 26 as a control means based on the detected signal. Thus, the proper image having the different printing density can be automatically formed by the process cartridge 30. |
