<p>PURPOSE:To suppress damages of a magnetic tape by a method wherein a step is provided in an upper flange and the higher stage of the upper flange has a larger diameter of the lower stage. CONSTITUTION:When a magnetic tape 6 falls gradually from a state wherein the tape is positioned over the upper end part of a fixed guide 22 and the lower stage flange part 36 of an upper flange 26 to the guide 22, as the flange diameter of the flange part 36 is practically uniform along an axial direction, the bending of the tape created by a tension applied to the tape is smaller than the bending in the case of a tapered upper flange part 26. With this constitution, the damages of the tape caused by the tension applied to the tape 6 can be suppressed.</p> |
