PURPOSE:To prepare the title compsn. which is flame-retardant, has excellent adhesive properties, and generates only small amts. of heat and smoke during burning by compounding a specific thermosetting phenol resin a specific polyvinyl butyral resin, a specific brominated flame retardant, and Sb2O3. CONSTITUTION:The title compsn. is prepd. by compounding a thermosetting phenol resin having a cross-linking index of 60 or higher and a free phenol index of 30 or lower, a polyvinyl butyral resin having a degree of polymn. of 1500 or higher, a brominated phenol deriv. of formula I (wherein R1 is H or a group of formula II or III; R2 is H or CH3; (m) is 1-3; and (m') is 1-3) or a brominated bisphenol A deriv. of formula IV (wherein (n) is 0-2), and Sb2O3. The compsn. is flame-retardant, has excellent adhesive properties, and generates only small amts. of heat and smoke during burning. |
