PURPOSE:To enhance water holding capacity of the planographic printing plate using a silver complex salt transfer method and to improve storage stability of printing performance by forming a coating layer containing colloidal silica or alumina sol on the surface of the printing plate. CONSTITUTION:A silver halide emulsion layer and a physical development nucleus layer are formed on a support, and the layer containing colloidal silica or alumina sol is formed on the nucleus layer. This colloidal silica or alumina sol has a particle diameter of, preferably, 5-300nm, and a combination of both may be used. An amount of the coloid or sol to be added varies in accordance with the kinds, amount, and properties of the physical development nuleus layer, and printing characteristics are affected by its addition amount. It is preferred to add it in an amount of <=0.5g/m<2>, especially, 0.05-0.2g/m<2>. |
