PURPOSE:To effectively manufacture an outermost layer with an excellent mold releasing property to be laminated on a sponge roller by obtaining under no grinding a superficial smooth sponge roller. CONSTITUTION:An unvulcanized foamable rubber composite constituting a sponge body 3 around the outer periphery of a core shaft 2 is formed, and a liquidus silicone rubber or silicone oil composite containing silicone resin fine powder 5 constituting an outermost layer 6 is coated and dried thereon. Thereafter, it is set on a mold and foam-vulcanized so as to obtain a smooth roller 1 having no foam on the surface. The silicone resin fine powder is of the type of not melting at a curing temperature of silicone rubber. Since silicone resin fine powder is uniformly dispersed on the outermost layer 6 and silicone resin fine powder uniformly projects thereon, an outermost layer can be formed that has an excellent mold releasing property. By this reason, the durability thereof is improved extremely. |
