PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temporal transient phenomenon suppressing device of an optical fiber amplifier for a wavelength division multiplexing system. SOLUTION: This device is provided with an input sensing part 100 for operating the photoelectric conversion of an inputted light signal, and outputting the converted signal; a temporal transition suppressing part 200 for holding the output of the input sensing part only in a prescribed time, and outputting it in a pulse configuration proportional to the change quantity of the number of channels; a voltage comparing part 300 for comparing a preliminarily set reference voltage with the size of a pulse outputted from the temporal transition suppressing part, and for outputting a trigger signal at the time of the change of the number of channels; a pump laser diode driving part 400 for supplying a driving voltage to a pump laser diode in response to the input of a pump instruction signal; and a controller 500 for outputting a pump instruction signal pertinent to the changed number of channels in response to the input of the trigger signal.
