PURPOSE:To provide high-strength low heat conductive ceramics having a low heat conductivity. CONSTITUTION:The low heat conductive ceramics comprise an oxide 2 dispersed in a matrix l of reactionally sintered Si3N4 and an interposing layer 3, composed of a material different from the oxide 2 and the reactionally sintered Si3N4 and present in the boundary phase of both. The phonon scattering is caused in the interposing layer 3 and the reduction in heat conductivity of the ceramics can be improved. Furthermore, the binding force of the disperse phase of the oxide 2 to the matrix 1 of the reactionally sintered Si3N4 is improved by the presence of the interposing layer 3. |
