<p>The invention concerns an energy-absorbing tear-webbing (1) comprising two woven webbing plies (2, 3) which are in parallel and sheetlike contact with one another over a partial length (lT) and which are held together in the contact region by one or more binding threads (4). The unbound ends (9, 10) of the tear-webbing (1) make it possible to direct into the contact region (partial length lT) tensile forces that act transversely to the webbing ply plane and will result in progressive tearing apart of the interply bond in the longitudinal direction (L) with irreversible energy absorption. The tear-webbing (1) has been reinforced in the contact region (partial length lT) by impregnating with a coating composition which, after impregnating, has become elastically consolidated to form a coating matrix (8) which enrobes the woven webbing plies (2, 3) and the binding threads (4). …<IMAGE>… </p> |
