Arrangement for storing the address of a processing unit which belongs to a unit for in-operation monitoring of a communication transmission device in which processing units are provided by means of an addressing method with addresses which can be stored in each case. In order to avoid re-addressing all processing units when one processing unit is replaced, an EEPROM in which the address of the processing unit can be stored is disposed outside the processing unit in an insert which contains the processing unit.
