<p>Polyalkylene oxide (PAO)-based compositions containing isocyanate and/or isothiocyanate groups for covalent attachment to bio-effecting substances such as peptides or chemotherapeutics are disclosed. The compositions react readily with the bio-effecting substances to provide compositions having increased circulating lives in mammals, substantially reduced immunogenicity and enhanced aqueous solubility. Methods of preparing such PAO-based compositions are also disclosed.</p> |
