The invention is directed to a loading post driving device for a magnetic recording/playback apparatus of the type having a movable carrier for withdrawing a tape from a tape cassette. The movable carrier is driven, in use, along a loading guide positioned around a circumference of a rotary head cylinder. The loading guide is inclined with respect to the rotary head cylinder. The invention comprises means for preventing the movable carrier from contacting the rotary head cylinder. <IMAGE>
