PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an individual confirmation device whose power consumption is little. SOLUTION: A human approach detection part is connected to the main control part of this individual confirmation device incorporated in an automatic transaction machine 13. A pressure sensitive switch 18 is connected to the human approach detection part and the pressure sensitive switch 18 is provided within the individual confirmation area of the individual confirmation device and is hidden under a foot wiping mat. When a customer A gets on the pressure sensitive sheet 18, signals for indicating that the customer is present within the individual confirmation area are transmitted from the human approach detection part to the main control part. In a state where the customer A is not on the pressure sensitive sheet 18, the signals for indicating that the customer A is not present within the individual confirmation area are transmitted from the human approach detection part to the main control part. The main control part receives the signals and turns on the power source of a camera 7, a scattering adjustment light source 8 and a pupil adjustment light source 9 only when the customer A is present within the individual confirmation area. |
