At its head end (5) the screw (4) passes through a block (6) fitting in the groove in the first member, and then through a drilling (9) in the groove at the centre of the bevelled joint (1,2). The mating second member also contains a drilling (9a), and a block (10) in its groove with a tapped hole (11). The mating faces of the joint are pressed together along a straight line by the screw, which so fits in the hole (7) in its block (6) that it cannot slip, the hole being at 90 degrees (8) to the mating faces (1,2). The screw then passes through close-fitting openings in the grooves (15,15a) of the members to engage in the second block, whose tapped hole is likewise at 90 degrees (12) to the mating faces. The block can be held in the groove so that it cannot be pulled out.
