The high voltage power circuit-breaker has two mutually movable arcing contact tips (1,3) and a field-electrode (15) which lies opposite the first arcing contact tip (13) with the circuit breaker switched off and which surrounds the second contact tip (1). The field-electrode (15) is driven by a drive having a first driven rod (18) to which is hinge-connected a lever/link (20) with a pin (21) fixed on the hingeable part of the lever/link with the field-electrode (15) coupled to the pin. A link-guide (23) carriers the pin during the switch-off movement and is shaped so that its first part (29) extends approximately parallel to the rod (18), and its second part (21) allows the pin (21) to yield normal to the longitudinal axis of the circuit-breaker.
