The present invention relates to a system for supplying a working medium in a nuclear rocket engine, wherein said system can be used in the construction of flying models of nuclear rocket engines and nuclear electromotive plants as well as in their ground-based prototypes during experimental development. This system comprises a bypass duct with a regulation valve which is mounted between the inlet and the outlet of a heat-receiving track in a recuperator. It is thus possible, during the startup and extinction modes of the nuclear rocket engine, to modify the temperature of the working medium in the cooling tracks of the nuclear reactor. It is also possible, during modes of reduced thermal power, to maintain the required thermal conditions in the inlet sections of the fuel-rod arrays and of the decelerator. This invention increases the reliability of the nuclear rocket engine during the operation transition modes thereof.
