PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system stabilizing apparatus, and its control method, which reduce operation losses to be generated by a power converter and its auxiliary machinery, and save energy. SOLUTION: A system stabilizing apparatus is provided with a power converter 15 connected through an interconnecting transformer 14 to a power system in which a wind power generator 11 accompanied by power variation is interconnected to a system power source 12, and a secondary battery 16 connected to the DC side of the power converter 15. The apparatus suppresses the voltage and frequency variations of the power system produced by the output variation of the generator 11, is fitted with a control circuit 17 which detects the electric energy or its variation of the generator 11 by a potential transformer 18 and a current transformer 19, and outputs a stop command for the power converter 15 and its auxiliary machinery at the point of time when the detected energy becomes a preset specified settling level or smaller only for a preset specified time. |
