Biopsy device (2) is mounted on a support (3) by means of a mounting device (12). The support (3) can be fixed to a diagnostic device such as a X-ray apparatus. A rectangular type opening (26) is provided for the arm of a rotating lever when it is in its retaining position. A second lever arm has a push button that causes the rotating lever to rotate against a spring in retaining position. An opening is made for the biopsy unit in the X-ray unit and means for moving the sample from the biopsy needle to the sample investigation area is provided.
