A window has two window panes. The first is a conventional glass pane, the second is of flexible elastic transparent, break-proof deformable plastic. When an airbag is employed during a crash situations, the plastic window is moved upwards by the airbag in front of the glass pane. The plastic pane may be of Kevlar, or may be perforated to provide safe ventilation when children are carried in the car.
